News EventThe Visit Qatar Kite Festival is growing to include more locations for its third edition. Qatari citizens and visitors can take in the breathtaking show of enormous kites in Sheraton Park from January 16–17, Sealine from January 16–18, and Old Doha Port from January 19–25.
The festival this year offers something truly unique: live creation of landart frescoes by world-renowned artist Saype, whose ephemeral art decorated landscapes of New York, Paris, Venice, Geneva, Cape Town, Turin, Dubai, Istanbul, Miami, and Tokyo. This is in addition to the kite show, which features kites of all sizes, shapes, and colors created by 60 professional kite flyers from all over the world, stage entertainment, and popular kite building workshops for children and other family-friendly activities.
The French-Swiss artist will create his first art on the sands of Sealine, and the second will be made on the grass surface of Old Doha Port.
Visitors arriving at Hamad International Airport will find the massive, incredibly lifelike images much more captivating from the air.
Saype uses environmentally safe, biodegradable pigments, mostly made of chalk and charcoal, to create environmentally responsible artwork.
