Visit Qatar will bring a new sporting championship to Qatar as it is to host the inaugural edition of Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP

Visit Qatar announced at the signing ceremony held on September 30 at Corinthia Yacht Club that it would be hosting the first-ever Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP in collaboration with the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) E1 World Championship and United Development Company (UDC). Executive Chairman of E1, Mr. Alejandro Agag, and President, CEO, and Board Member of United Development Company, Mr. Ibrahim Jassim Al-Othman, were present at the signing event. Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi is the CEO of Visit Qatar.

The RaceBird, the Championship's cutting-edge electric raceboat, is expected to debut on February 21–22, 2025. The Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP, which will take place at The Pearl Island in Doha in 2025, will be a major event of the racing calendar and the first race to build a racing hub in the Middle East. E1's exciting racing series, where teams battle for the title of Champions of the Water, will take place at Corinthia Yacht Club in The Pearl Island. 

The UIM, the global authority on powerboat racing, has granted permission and licenses for the world's first electric powerboat racing competition, known as the E1 World Championship. With the goal of protecting coastal waterways and marine life, the E1 World Championship is revolutionising maritime racing by utilising only electric power. Doha will be one of the eight sites on the tournament's global racing circuit. In addition to the line race, the Championship consists of many forms such as practice and qualifying sessions.
