World Aquatics Championships; Doha to host 2,600 of the world's best athletes from nearly 190 countries

The inaugural World Aquatics Championships for enthusiasts of aquatic sports in the Middle East will begin in 50 days. 2,600 of the top athletes from approximately 190 nations will compete in Doha in an environment sure to excite and entertain fans. In addition, the city is getting ready to receive thousands of global spectators for this important athletic event, which is scheduled to take place from February 2 to February 18, 2024.

Aspire Dome, Hamad Aquatic Centre, and Old Doha Port are the three competition sites for the World Aquatics Championship – Doha 2024. The event's engaging mascots, Nahim and Mayfara, made their debuts there lately.

"Nahim," a whale shark that is gentle and common in Qatari seas, is a symbol of the country's ecology and cultural connections. In the meanwhile, "Mayfara" captures the vitality and variety of coral reefs, illustrating Qatar's hospitable culture. The goals of both mascots are to inspire cooperation for a better future by promoting sustainability and environmental protection.
