News EventOver 2000 stakeholders and 100 local, regional, and worldwide experts are expected to attend this week's World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE 11) in Doha, providing a range of viewpoints on the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) in education and the hazards that come with it.
"Creative Fluency: Human Flourishing in the Age of AI" is the topic of WISE 11, which will take place in the Qatar National Convention Centre on November 28 and 29. The summit's comprehensive schedule features seven research papers that address different issues in education, in addition to more than twenty core sessions and captivating experiential activities.
The growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) across a variety of industries and the necessity for a better comprehension of its uses in educational settings were highlighted by Shahin Ammane, Director of WISE, a worldwide education project of the Qatar Foundation.
In addition, he emphasised the summit's six main topic tracks, each of which included a policy roundtable, a masterclass, and a panel discussion. Future classrooms, digital sovereignty in education, ethical AI, reimagining higher education in an AI-driven society, scaling for fairness and access, and systemic changes in education are just a few of the subjects covered in these courses.
The WISE Prize for Education, which honours exceptional contributions to education, will also be presented during WISE 11. The WISE Prize and $500,000 will be awarded to the winner, who will be revealed at the first day's Opening Plenary.
Speakers on the stellar programme include Jeffrey Sachs, the director of Columbia University's Centre for Sustainable Development, and generative AI pioneer Nina Schick. The summit will be livened up by the Youth Studio, which has sessions selected by young voices, and an open policy discussion on EdTech testbeds.
Ammane talked about how AI may help with data difficulties in education and mentioned that AI-driven technologies can help with data generation, decision-making, and system strengthening. In-depth discussion of this subject will take place on the panel "Breaking Boundaries: Is AI the Key to Ensuring Next-Gen Education Access?"
Ammane focused on positive tendencies in the COVID-19 pandemic's effects on education, such as people becoming more tech-savvy, putting more emphasis on mental health, and reevaluating organised educational courses.
