WTT Star Contender Doha takes center stage at the Lusail Sports Arena from January 6

News EventQatar will host the 2025 World Table Tennis season opener, with the WTT Star Contender Doha taking center stage at the Lusail Sports Arena starting Thursday, January 6, 2025.
The WTT Series, which features the world's greatest paddlers, will begin in Qatar for the second year in a row.
The men's singles entry list contains many of the world's top players, including Japan's World No. 3 Tomokazu Harimoto, a former Doha champion (2021). In the women's singles, Japan's World No.5 Hina Hayata returns following an outstanding showing in last year's Doha event, hoping to win her eighth WTT Series title.
This year's WTT Star Contender Doha features 180 male and female players from 42 countries fighting for a part of the $275,000 prize fund.
The competition has five categories: men's and women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
The preliminaries take place today and tomorrow, followed by the main draw, which runs from January 8 to January 11.
